All landscape workshops are run by Alan personally, with over fifteen years of experience running over a 1,000 landscape workshops in the UK, Alan has expertise on organising professional photography tuition events with small groups of like-minded photographers, of all levels and ability in meticulously researched locations that provide you the best learning opportunities with his one to one approach to teaching on location.

  • 1. Practical On-Location Tuition

Workshops provide hands-on, practical tuition in real-life conditions. With personalised one-on-one guidance, you can receive tailored instruction based on your level of expertise and individual goals.

    2. Immersive Learning Experience

By joining a workshop, you'll benefit from an immersive learning experience beyond technical instruction. You'll be part of a community of fellow photographers, sharing insights, ideas, and creative inspiration. The collaborative environment fosters growth, and the camaraderie among participants adds an element of joy and shared enthusiasm to the learning process.

    3. Expert Guidance and Feedback

Photography workshops are led by an experienced professional who has honed their craft over 20 years of practice. He offers valuable insights, tips, and techniques to elevate your photography skills. He provides personalised feedback and critique sessions, helping you refine your compositions, master camera settings, and develop your unique photographic style.

    4. Well-Planned Itineraries

Workshops include well-researched itineraries that maximise your time at each location. Alan carefully selects the most picturesque spots and ensures that you have ample opportunities to capture stunning images. You'll be guided through the best times and locations for optimal lighting conditions and unforgettable photographic experiences from sunrise to sunset.

    5. Networking and Inspiration

Joining a workshop allows you to connect with fellow photographers who share your passion and enthusiasm. The opportunity to exchange ideas, share experiences, and collaborate can be invaluable in expanding your creative horizons. The supportive environment nurtures personal and professional growth, fostering lifelong friendships and inspiring new artistic perspectives.

  • You will be emailed the precise meeting point 4-7 days before the workshop with recommended equipment to bring. However, the event listing will have a generic list of items that apply to most workshops. You are responsible for travelling to and from the location

  • All workshops are run personally by Alan Ranger. Alan has over ten years of professional photography teaching experience and will work with participants on a 1-2-1 basis throughout the workshop. Participants are welcome and supported with whatever level and experience they are.

  • All non-residential workshops are restricted to six clients and often less to ensure that each participant receives the support/tuition/attention they expect.

Residential workshops are restricted to a max of 4 participants to enable travel between locations in one vehicle.

  • Places will be marked as sold out if applicable; otherwise, please book through the website. If you want to spread the purchase cost, I offer an interest-free 12-month payment plan. Editing allows photographers to enhance the natural beauty of a scene, correct for camera limitations, and realise their creative vision. However, ethical landscape photography maintains a balance between enhancement and authenticity. Many UK-based landscape photography workshops include lessons on responsible editing techniques to help you achieve stunning, yet credible results

    4. DxO PhotoLab: Great for noise reduction and lens corrections

    5. ON1 Photo RAW: An all-in-one solution with AI-powered features

Landscape Photography Workshops

Available throughout the year, the carefully planned landscape photography workshops are an ideal chance to savour the fun and expertise of hands-on support from a renowned, professional photographer. Alan is always willing to teach and share his knowledge with photographers of any level or experience, so you can be assured you will always receive the tuition you need. These are considered to be the best landscape workshop experiences, according to many clients who have attended. Many clients have also attended one of my photography courses to get a solid foundation in camera basics and editing photos. Attending a photography course is not a prerequisite for joining a landscape workshop, as workshops are run in small groups with as much 1-2-1 tuition and support as you need and want.

Please contact me if there is a specific location workshop you want to attend on different dates, as I can swap some events around if demand supports it. Browse my events calendar for all photography events.
