Small group classes, 3-4 people at a time, so that there are plenty of opportunities to get to know everyone in the class and ask as many questions as you want to
Which - Where?
To start with, I advise doing the two foundation courses. The 5-week beginner’s photography course starts with getting off auto and then goes further into more camera settings, light, composition, and use of additional equipment like filters and tripods.

Once that course is complete, the next step is learning how to edit photographs using professional software to get more professional results. Our 4-week beginner’s Adobe Lightroom course provides you with the knowledge and foundations to achieve this.

We can then discuss further class options to suit your interests be it black and white photography, gaining a qualification, portrait photography or some other genre.
With?
All classes and courses are run personally by Alan Ranger, a professional photographer and qualified (ABIPP) landscape photographer with extensive experience and multiple awards for his landscape and seascape photography. Alan is a full-time photography tutor, so you know you are getting a professional with well-structured, organised events to meet every client’s needs.
Who?
Clients in photography classes vary in age and experience but all come to classes with a common goal of trying to improve their photography and understanding in all elements of the photographic process.
For the photography courses, you will need a DSLR or Bridge camera. If you are unsure what you have, please contact me before booking for confirmation. This foundation course does not need any other specialist lenses or equipment.

For the Lightroom course, you will need to sign up for a Creative Cloud monthly subscription (£10) and have access to a laptop to use on the course.
The majority of classes run from my home in Coventry, CV4 9HW. However, some courses may be run from a venue in Kenilworth if the number of people booked requires a larger space. Other classes are run virtually online via Zoom, as indicated on the event listing.

All classes can also be delivered as private 1-2-1 lessons if preferred. Contact me for details.
