Description - Garden Photography Workshop
2.5hrs in my back garden for a garden photography workshop
My garden has been, for a long time, my creative studio. Beyond photography and the outdoors I have a passion for gardening, plants, flowers and all things natural that are permanent and evolving or periodic tourists be it flora and fauna and the diversity of wildlife that visits. This is a limited space garden photography workshop and is available for anyone who shares my love of the garden space and wants the opportunity to have hands-on guidance on how to create an image amongst so many visual delights. You can focus on close-up macro, wider portraits of segments of the garden structures and borders or whatever grabs your attention.
I will be on hand to help with camera settings, composition, and instant photo reviews with my laptop on-hand and serve you tea/coffee/water and cake!
Places are limited to four to ensure my lawn is not wrecked (but seriously) and to allow you the space and time with me to explore and maximise the time and environment.
Itinerary - Garden Photography Workshop
A brief introduction for 20 min on garden photography and a discussion on the varied approaches to photographing a garden space and the woodlands accessible from the back of the garden.
Alan will guide you in the garden photography workshop on;
Camera Settings
Exposure & Colour Settings
Composition and Framing
You will be given four assignments with guidance notes to encourage you to experiment and vary your compositions.
Image review and feedback throughout the workshop using a laptop and large screen in the gazebo.
Tea/coffee and cakes are available throughout

2. Help you use your equipment more effectively – lenses, tripods, filters etc.
3. Help you improve your creative thinking and composition.
4. Help you develop an approach to improving your landscape photography.
On this Garden Photography Workshop Alan will guide you through:
Thinking more about composition
Using colour, texture, shape and more
Framing and designing the shot
Using camera settings to vary the effects
Learn the impact of using long exposure, shallow depth of field and other techniques.
Recognise correct lighting, contrast and texture to shape and form each shot.
Work with Alan to review your shots, try new ideas and improve your Garden Photography Workshop.
